The PYHA hockey season runs from October/November (depending on division) through February/early March (depending on division). PYHA plans to accept registrations through December with set registration fees (posted below).
Players must be registered with both USA Hockey and PYHA before they will be allowed to participate in any dryland or on-ice activities and PYHA registration MUST BE COMPLETED BY 7:00 PM (PT) ON THE DAY BEFORE they plan to attend a PYHA practice in order to create and provide coaches with eligible player lists before practices.
For players born 2005 or earlier, SafeSport training must be completed before they can be rostered to play in games.
Each player must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to signup for the 2022-2023 Season.
Registration for PYHA begins at the bottom of this page, once you are signed into your SportsEngine account. Click "Continue" to enter registration.
Following the completion of this registration, you will see a charge on your account from PYHA.
PYHA follows the age classifications defined by USA Hockey that are based on birth year. The following table is provided for your information.
In the event of a season cancellation due to rink closure or other situation, no refunds will be given; instead, returning players will receive a voucher for registration fees in the 2023 -2024 season pro-rated from this season. Players in their last season will not be reimbursed.
All transactions will incur a Transaction Rate and Fee: 3.0% (in addition to the total registration fee) + $1.00/payment. This fee will be collected at registration, including $1 per each payment of a payment plan.
The following payment options are being offered: pay in full and partial payment plans. The available payment plans include split (2) payment (half at registration and half on January 10, 2023) for all youth divisions or 3 payments for 8U and older divisions (initial payment at registration, payment 2 on November 15, and payment 3 on January 10, 2023). The gear rental fee and any jerseys purchased will be charged as a single fee at registration.
If you wish to change the account used to pay, please log in to your SportsEngine account BEFORE the payment is due to update your account information.
PYHA reserves the right to invoice for uncollected fees due to calculation errors in the Registration program.

"New Player" Discount Fee ($50)*
Any player who is new to PYHA and registering as either a 12U, 10U, or 8U is entitled to register at a one-time lower rate. If you are registering both new and returning players, register the new player as the 1st player for this discount to work.
Families taking advantage of the special fee for New Players (8U- through 12U-level players) will be eligible to receive only one discount (that is, the New Player discount will be applied in lieu of the Sibling discount if the new player is registered first as instructed below).
Sibling Discount ($25)*
If you are registering more than one youth player in your immediate family this season, your family can receive a $25 discount on the full season registration fee for the second (and any additional) child(ren). This discount does not apply to the first player registering in a family, new players, or players in the 6U or Girls division.
In order for the registration system to recognize that your family is registering multiple players:
*Due to already low registration fees, discounts do not apply to 6U players and do not apply to Girls program participants.
Special Circumstances - Accommodations Must be Requested Before Registration
STOP! If you need another payment option, please email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org and RECEIVE A REPLY BEFORE YOU REGISTER WITH PYHA. Thank you!
ALL NEW PLAYERS MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF AGE AND CITIZENSHIP WITH OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION SUCH AS A COPY OF A BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR A PASSPORT. THE REGISTRAR WILL NEED TO COLLECT THESE DOCUMENTS IN ORDER FOR PLAYERS TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY GAMES.
Volunteerism remains critical to the functioning of Palouse Youth Hockey and helps keep costs down while supporting our programs. The volunteer hours requirement for the 2022-2023 season is 10 hours for families with players 8U and up (6U and Girls program participants are exempt).
With no paid positions at PYHA, all of the hours that go into maintaining a youth sports program are put in by volunteers. In order to keep costs down, PYHA has the volunteer or league service requirement. Families can choose to fulfill hours (10) over the course of the season or buyout their hours to provide additional funding to assist with costs. Some families choose to buyout from the start and others buyout when they realize that they cannot fulfill their requirement. Some families volunteer hours which is truly appreciated even though they have bought out their time.
Volunteering for the 2022 -2023 season will remain at 10 hours where 3 hours are due at the tournament of your oldest player. Ideally these hours would be fulfilled on the tournament weekend but they can be completed in advance in support of the tournament when arranged with your team manager. The remaining 7 hours are to be completed throughout the season and can be fulfilled by working clock or keeping score during games, being a locker room monitor, attending board meetings, completing SafeSport Training (1 hr), helping out at Gear Swap or with equipment, Try Hockey for Free days, and other opportunities which will be advertised.
Buyout for the 7 non-tournament hours will be $210. Failure to assist with your oldest player’s home tournament will result in an additional $90 payment being applied unless other arrangements are made in advance and with the Volunteer Coordinator's approval.
Volunteer hours are waived for families with only 6U players or only a participant in the Girls developmental program though they are welcome and encouraged to volunteer at any opportunity.
The buyout for the 2022-2023 season is $210 per family, payable in full with registration if this option is selected. PYHA does encourage families to support our programs in whatever way you are able during this season and to recognize that our coaches, managers, board members, and others are continuing to volunteer their time so PYHA has a successful season.
Questions may be directed to Board Member and Volunteer Coordinator Jacob Wells (email@example.com or 208.791.3749).
Thank you for your commitment to Palouse Youth Hockey and our programs.
Hockey equipment is available to borrow for the season on a first-come, first-served basis for $40.28 (tax included). For more information, please read the Gear Rental Agreement below.
By enrolling in the Gear Rental program, you are agreeing to the conditions set forth in the Gear Rental Agreement (below) and the fee in full will be added to your registration (the first registration payment if a payment plan is selected). You will also need to agree to a deposit of $250 (an authorization to charge) if the gear is not returned by March 18, 2023.
